Nightbox

ightbox are a five-piece indie/rock band that originated in Ireland in 2005. Formed by two young Canadian brothers and their Irish mates while in high school, the band gained attention by winning the Coca-Cola Blastbeat World Finals competing against bands from around the world in a Battle of the Bands contest in Dublin, Ireland.

>After extensive gigging throughout Ireland over the past 3 years, and an appearance at SXSW in 2008, Nightbox showcased at Oxegen 2009, voted Europe’s best festival. Press from that gig touted Nightbox as the “new favourite Irish band.” Their music is a mix of infectious hooks and addictive choruses, with some mash-ups of covers thrown in for a good time. Nightbox music is a blend of catchy riffs and 3 and 4 voice harmonies.

The band, originally a 4-piece, has evolved with the addition of a synth/keyboard player, and is taking their music into a new direction. Living in Ireland, the band has been influenced by the vibrant British indie/alternative music scene, and a lot of these influences can be heard in the band’s music. Nightbox are an energetic stage act and their enthusiasm for their music and their fans can be seen in their live gigs.

Recently, the band has moved to Toronto to pursue their musical careers and leave their mark on the Canadian music scene.
